Beyonce has been planning a lavish 37th birthday party for her man Jay-Z this weekend in the Caribbean, but sources have told the New York Post that the four-day extravaganza isn't a birthday party at all: It's -- shhh! -- a wedding.
The duo have consistently shrugged off reports of impending nuptials, and have recently been the subject of breakup rumors, with some people citing Jay-Z's new track "Lost One" as proof that things have gone awry -- even though the song was recorded months ago for the Kingdom Come album.
"I don't think it's meant to be, B," Jay raps on the rumor-stirring track. "For she loves the work more than she does me / And honestly, at 23, I would probably love
my work more than I did she." Ah, the perils of loving a young and ambitious superstar.
But the newest reports indicate that "Lost One" will go down as fiction rather than autobiography. According to the Post's source, a select group of friends will fly to the Caribbean, then ferry across to Anguilla for what will surely be a budget-friendly wedding party at the five-star Cap Juluca resort.
Regardless of whether it's a wedding or just a birthday party as originally reported, Hova could sure use some celebrating to lift his spirits. In its second sales week, Kingdom Come's sales plummeted 80%, the single biggest sales drop of Jay-Z's career.
