The Spanish singer loves the sporty shoes so much he once bought 40 pairs in a mammoth shopping spree, and blames his obsession on a poor childhood where he had to scrimp and save to look as cool as his richer pals.

Long-suffering Craig sighs, "The big kid in me is just crazy about trainers. When I was 14, I'd save and save until I had the GBP80 or whatever necessary for the coolest brand.

"Then, because I'd spent so much money, I'd be afraid to take them out of the box in case they got scuffed."
